Lack of family damages kids
BREAK-UP of traditional families is one reason for a mental health crisis among the young says Childline founder Esther Rantzen.
There are now fewer grandparents, aunts and uncles close by for children to talk over their problems.
The charity’s counselling sessions for anxiety have doubled in two years.
Dame Esther, 78, added: “Families need to ask if there is enough emotional support, whether they’re giving young people enough time.”
