First photo of tragic ‘brave’ break-in OAP

DIED Maureen Whale POLICE have released the first picture of frail OAP Maureen Whale, who died after collapsing at her home following a burglary.

CCTV shows three men in their 20s breaking into the detached house where she had lived all her life.

The 77-year-old was phoning police when she collapsed at the property in Barnet, North London.

Yesterday, Maureen’s oldest friend said she was a “wonderful” brave lady, who had “lived out her dream” as an air hostess.

The 78-year-old, who did not want to be named, added: “She was elegant and always immaculate, with her head held high.

“What became of her is simply horrendous.

“To think of Maureen all alone at home when it happened is devastating.”
