£220 loyalty sting for net

THE price of sticking with the same broadband supplier can be up to £220.

Loyal BT users were the hardest hit, paying £540 a year compared with new customers on £319.97.

Which? found those who haggled managed to shave £168 off their BT bill.

Virgin Media regulars were charged £540 against £349 for newcomers and at TalkTalk, the figures were £324 and £239 respective­ly.

Alex Neill of Which? said: “Haggling might get you a good discount.”
