Half-empty Wembley is ‘just not nice any more’ says Spurs star

- BY DARREN LEWIS

DANNY ROSE says Spurs players sympathise with fans who are fed up of Wembley.

The England full-back was speaking after his side beat Southampton in front of a halfempty national stadium.

Supporters unhappy with delays to the new

White Hart Lane are now voting with their feet.

Rose (right) said: “It’s not nice any more.

It’s lost its… I don’t feel it’s an honour to play at Wembley.

“We’re all itching to get in the new stadium and hopefully it’s not too much longer.”

Just over 33,000 fans made it to Wembley on Wednesday,

the lowest crowd of their temporary tenure.

Despite that, they won 3-1 with goals from Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min.

But Rose added: “The atmosphere is a bit flat. I sympathise with the fans, travelling further to come to Wembley, but it’s the lowest attendance since we’ve been at Wembley.”

He is the latest player to express disillusionment. Hugo Lloris admitted being “homeless” was taking its toll on the squad.

Hold-ups to their £1billion new stadium dashed Spurs’ hopes to have moved in by the start of this season.
