Virgin pilots’ Xmas strikes
PILOTS at Virgin Atlantic are to go on strike from December 22 to Christmas Day, in a dispute over union recognition.
The Professional Pilots Union said its members voted by more than 7-1 in favour of industrial action.
The PPU represents a third of Virgin’s pilots.
Spokesman Steve Johnson said it had been “shut out” and members felt “bullied into this action by a company that chooses to ignore them”.
Virgin said: “A small number of our pilots have voted for industrial action.”
