Palaces staff vote to strike
WORKERS at royal palaces, including Yeomen at the Tower of London, have voted by 9-1 to strike in a pensions row.
Members of the Public and Commercial Services union employed by Historic Royal Palaces will walk out on December 21.
The union said HRP’s plan to move staff to a defined contribution pension will leave them “significantly worse off ”.
HRP boss John Barnes said the current scheme was “unsustainable.”
