Switch has Tevez Mad
CARLOS TEVEZ says holding tomorrow’s Copa Libertadores final in Madrid is “embarrassing” and “madness”.
The second leg of the South American equivalent of the Champions League final was called off last month after River Plate fans attacked the team bus of bitter rivals Boca Juniors and injured several players.
After another aborted attempt to play the match, the Buenos Aires derby has now been moved 6,000 miles to Real Madrid’s Bernabeu stadium.
But Boca striker Tevez said: “It is embarrassing for the people, not so much for the players. They took away our dream of playing the final in our country.”
The former West Ham star also attacked South American football governing body CONMEBOL for playing the Superclasico in neutral territory after the first game at Boca finished 2-2.
He added: “What madness, no? They took some of the thrill away.”
