Harry can’t stop getting goals against Foxes
LEICESTER are on alert for their nemesis Harry Kane but Claude Puel fears it may be ‘impossible’ to stop him.
Tottenham and England ace Kane has 13 goals in 11 games against the Foxes in all competitions. He has found the Leicester net more than any other club.
The striker’s feats include seven goals in the last three meetings – with four coming on his visit to the King Power Stadium in May 2017.
And the hitman will fancy adding to his 13 goals for Spurs this term as he heads to the Midlands. City boss Puel said: “The plan? First thing is he has scored a lot not just against Leicester.
“He can score all the time against any opponent, it is not a problem for him, he is a fantastic player and we respect Harry a lot.
“We cannot stop Harry Kane, it is not possible – he can shoot from everywhere.
“We just have to have a collective defence all the time to keep an eye on him.
“To remain close to him to prevent his shots and his touches, just this.
“It is not solely the responsibility of Wes Morgan or Jonny Evans or another player tomorrow though.
“It is not just the defence, it is all the team. Harry can score from far because he takes responsibility with a lot of shots and always moves. So we cannot say he is just for this marker because he plays between the lines and moves a lot.
“The team need to be careful with him and take responsibility.” Leicester may recall fit-again Harry Maguire to help tackle fellow England international Kane.
The defender is recovering after injuring his knee against Cardiff on November 3. But Puel is not relying on any inside information from Maguire from the Three Lions’ Russia campaign.
The Frenchman added: “They can be friends and have a fantastic relationship but we cannot say we can stop Harry Kane like this.
“He is a player making a lot of difference but we need to have the focus on all their players without forgetting to play ourselves.”
Leicester are without their own former England striker Jamie Vardy, who is still in pain from a groin injury.
