Victoria grief clothes sale

-

AUCTION Queen’s bodice BODICES Queen Victoria wore while mourning the death of husband Albert go on sale today.

The three silk items were found by the family of her servant George Searle, who is said to have taken them without her knowing in the late 1870s as “she wouldn’t have noticed”.

They are worth around £3,000 each and go under the hammer at Kerry Taylor Auctions in London.

Kerry said: “It’s quite rare to find pieces like this.”
