Roy happy to be put to Test

JASON ROY could be the big winner when England’s Test squad to the West Indies is named today.

The batsman is set to battle Surrey teammate Ollie Pope to be spare man in a line-up likely to be very similar to the one which whitewashed Sri Lanka.

Roy is able to provide cover from opening to the middle order, something Pope could not do.

Jack Leach, Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid are set to be included, although whether the spinners play together in the three-Test series is another matter.

Paceman Olly Stone, who toured Sri Lanka but did not play, will aim for a Windies Test debut.
