Leicester’s reach this with a 58thminute diving header after HeungMin Son had picked him out.

He cashed in at the far post after the outstanding Son had floored Leicester with a magnificent curling shot on the stroke of half-time (right).

Dele said: “Obviously I’m delighted to get 50 but I can’t stop now.

“But I’ve got to keep going and get some more in the league.

“I want to get many more and I don’t want to be recognised just for scoring goals, I want to help the team in many other ways as well.”

Spurs still have a chance of making the Champions League knockout stages but a win would look to be the minimum requirement. Dele added: “They are one of the best teams in the world, they’ve got some great players and as a kid you dream about playing at the Nou Camp and we’re going to go there and give it our best shot. “For me Messi he is the best player in the world, he is a fantastic player and he’s a joy to watch.

“He is a player that everyone idolised because of what he’s achieved in his career.”

Leicester hardly gave them the ideal dress rehearsal.

Claude Puel’s side never seemed to be quite at it and once Son’s goal cracked them open it was hard to see a way back. Without Jamie Vardy, the Foxes do look woefully short of attacking options and you would think Puel will want to invest in that department come the January transfer window.

Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris hardly had anything to do until the last few minutes when he was called on to make a couple of routine saves.

And considering they went into Saturday night’s game on a sevenmatch unbeaten run, this was a pretty tame effort from Puel’s men on front of their own fans at the King Power.
