PUEL: KELI CAN STILL BE HERO

- BY DAVE ARMITAGE

CLAUDE PUEL is refusing to give up on misfiring striker Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Nigerian international’s 55th-minute substitution was met by ironic cheers from some sections of the Leicester crowd. The 22-year-old’s massive price-tag is hardly helping him win over the King Power faithful, who are wondering why Leicester paid £25million for the former Manchester City forward in August 2017.

Another blank against Spurs means he’s scored just once in 15 appearances this season to go with just three in 21 the previous campaign.

Puel (with Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris, below) said: “His game was not bad today. He tried to work for his team and offer a solution. Of course he didn’t have a clean connection at the end, but it was not just Keli.”
