ParLeement frenzy
Churchill. Lloyd-George. Gladstone. Many illustrious names have graced the hallowed floors of the Palace of Westminster in the past century or two.
Now another name can be added to that list... Lee Ryan.
The Blue singer and Strictly star made his debut in the halls of power when he was invited to a charity bash hosted by Tory MP Bob Stewart last week. But his foray into parliament nearly ended in disaster – after he was spotted by teenage fans who were there on a school trip.
Such a commotion ensued that House security had to scurry over and step in.
There was so much hysteria, one gobsmacked MP quipped as they passed: “Perhaps he should be the next PM.” Our source says: “It was pandemonium. Lee was suddenly surrounded by about 50 mainly female fans, who were jostling around him, screaming and shouting.
“The uproar meant that members of parliament’s security force had to run over and intervene.”
They then escorted Lee as he quickstepped his way to a dining room, where Imperium investments was holding the bash in aid of St George’s Hospital Charity.
“Lee reacted like a pro. Nothing fazed him,” adds the source.
Staying strong and stable under pressure?
Perhaps it is time to All Rise for PM Ryan after all...
