Guilty Tim visits Sally in jail to tell her he woke next to scheming Gina after a boozy work party.

Joe Duttine, 48, who plays Tim, was upset to find out his char- acter would cheat on Sally (Sally Dyvenor) after five faithful years together. He said: “I like that they are monogamous – they get their kicks from riding a tandem, not cheating on each other.

Viewers know Gina, played by Connie Hyde, is behind the latest problems. She spread lies that Sally cheated on Tim, then chased him relentlessly.

Sally is serving fours years for a fraud she did not commit.

Joe said: “Tim is utterly devastated to think that he has cheated on his wife. He can’t keep a lie, how can you do that? So he just throws caution to the wind and goes to tell her on Christmas Day.

“I don’t know how a family would overcome a man sleeping with his wife’s sister.”

Joe added: “It’s a very eventful Christmas Day in the Metcalfe household – it’s not the happiest. But it’s going to be good viewing.”
