Manchester crown court heard how courageous Kyle grabbed a hammer and started smashing a living-room window in a desperate bid to save his family.

Now the grieving family are focusing on doing all they can to remember the children. They have invited the community to join them in Jackson Street at 6.30pm tonight to remember the four “angels” a year on from the attack. People are encouraged to bring candles to help them “light up the street”.

“The kids will love what we’re doing,” Sandra said.

“We definitely feel their presence.”
