A TOP IRISH SPORTS STAR ACCUSED OF HOTEL RAPE

A MUM has alleged she was raped by an Irish sports star.

She claims she was attacked by the man in a hotel room in Dublin.

Police have examined CCTV footage and her blood-stained clothes. It is believed she met the star in a nearby village while socialising, then travelled to the city centre hotel.

A group had a cocaine and booze party in one of the rooms, it is alleged. The woman, who is in a relationship with CLAIM He has not been named another man, claims she was raped at some point between midnight and 3am.

A source said: “Preliminary work is under way but [she] is so upset she can’t bring herself to make a statement yet.

“Gardai can arrest the suspect without a statement but they will need a full statement of complaint... to progress the investigation to a... potential charge.” The woman underwent a forensic examination after the alleged attack.

Police said there have been no arrests and the inquiry continues. It is understood they have yet to speak to the star.
