Lord Tebbit drives over tourist’s foot

CAR ROW Norman Tebbit NORMAN Tebbit was caught up in a row outside Parliament after running over a tourist’s foot.

A bystander filmed the Tory grandee being confronted by a Dutch man beside the House of Lords.

Footage shows the man, identified as Hans Vandekerkhof, getting up before shouting at the peer.

He told police: “My foot is under the wheel.” An officer spoke to Lord Tebbit, 87, before allowing him on his way on Monday.

The peer said he drove “very slowly” and gave “audible warnings” but the tourist continued walking in the road, near his wheel.

He said: “The wheel ran over his foot. I was unsure whether to free it by going forwards or back, but elected to reverse.” Police received no complaint.
