Bulldogs? We’re mice
■ Unite’s Community Day of action against Universal Credit on December 1 passed almost unnoticed. Compare this to France and the ‘yellow vest’ movement’s actions.
Our comparative lack of response to the brutal welfare reforms here should be a cause for great shame.
When did we become so submissive?
The ‘British bulldog’ spirit is a distant memory. Three lions on a shirt? Three timid mice would be a more fitting emblem. We need to be more like the French. John Costello Wolverhampton
■ Patricia Howard said exactly what I think about global warming (Your Voice, Dec 10). We are indeed doomed because very few people can think beyond today.
At this time of year especially much of what we see is about waste, commercialism, overconsumption and greed.
If you can’t see that, you are living your life in ignorance.
