Ward deaths grave ruling

A CORONER has ruled police can exhume the bodies of people feared to have been poisoned on a hospital stroke ward.

Up to eight patients at Blackpool Victoria Hospital have been identified as potential victims.

Three nurses have been questioned and bailed.

Coroner Alan Wilson ruled graves can be opened if necessary for postmortem examinatio­ns.

A detective said: “We are aware of the heartbreak to families involved.”
