No kip due to Xmas debts

FESTIVE debt worries are stopping 10% of us from sleeping, a report reveals.

Almost 50% will overspend this year, while 40% suffer as inflation increases the cost of gifts and food.

The average festive credit card bill will be £323.

When added to existing debt, we will each owe an average £740 come 2019.

Sally Francis-Miles, of MoneySuperMarket,com, which did the poll, advised: “If you’re hosting, ask your guests to bring a dish to help share the costs.”
