Less hospital on daily drink
PEOPLE who have a drink every day are in hospital less than teetotallers.
A team spent six years studying 21,000 Italians with regular moderate alcohol intake who also ate a Mediterranean diet.
Lead author Simona Costanzo, of the Mediterranean Neurological Institute in Pozzilli, said: “Those who drink in moderation present lower risk of hospitalisation for all causes compared to lifetime abstainers and former drinkers.”
