Long-range cam catches 1,200 drivers

CLEAR Images from camera A SPEED camera known as The Long Ranger snared over 1,200 speeding drivers in its first month in use.

One of the 1,293 offences in November was someone doing 126mph, with nine others over 100mph.

The high-definition device snaps drivers up to a kilometre away and can also spot them on mobiles and not wearing seat belts.

It is used by Gloucester­shire Police on the A419A417 route, linking the M4 and M5 which carries up to 35,000 vehicles a day.
