Research from relationship charity Relate has found that more than half (55%) of adults in the UK think Christmas puts added strain on relationships.

On average, Relate receives a 13% rise in calls and a 58% increase in website users in the January aftermath.

Earlier research by the charity found that money worries are the number one strain, with 26% suffering this pressure.

Counsellors from Relate report that at Christmas, arguments over money tend to be even more common.
