Bush guards jungle celebs

This is not just a man dressed as a bush.

This is a security guard who has spent the past month protecting the I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! contestants – while dressed as a bush.

Guards wrapped in leaves and branches spent the duration of the series stationed around ITV’s jungle area to keep a watchful eye.

“They hang out towards the edge of the camp, so the campmates don’t escape, essentially,” explains Extra Camp host and former contestant Joel Dommett, who took the photo.

“They’re security men. They’re there to protect the campmates from nature and things like that.”

He says the cleverly camouflaged guards – part of 600 crew – are just part of “an amazing, well-oiled machine”.

“You don’t realise how much of a ridiculous, logistical situation the jungle is – a 24-hour military operation.”
