RAMPAGE Cherif Chekatt STRASBOURG Christmas market gunman Cherif Chekatt was shot dead by police last night.

Three shots were heard as he was gunned down when he opened fire on officers in the French city’s La Meinau area, a source said.

Chekatt, 29, was found just over a mile from the scene of Tuesday evening’s atrocity.

Earlier, armed and masked police swooped on three areas of Strasbourg as part of a 1,000strong taskforce.

A third person died yesterday following Chekatt’s attack, which also wounded 12 people.

The career criminal had escaped by hijacking a taxi after being shot in the shoulder by a soldier. Emily on the beach in Australia and, below right, her hard-hitting tweet EMILY Atack has hit out at trolls who bad-mouthed her body shape, telling them: “We are all unique.”

Sharing a picture of herself taken on a Gold Coast beach before she went into the I’m A Celebrity camp, Emily wrote: “Some have rock hard abs, some have a bit of Jam Roly poly, it’s all ok.”

The 28-year-old actress and comedian, who was the runner-up to football manager Harry Redknapp on the show, landed back in the UK from Australia this week.

She was clearly sickened by some of the comments made about her online while she was in the jungle.

Emily said: “Can’t believe the amount of articles and comments about my bod.”

And she declared she would never use a slimming app to alter images of her body again.

Emily had told I’m A Celeb hosts Dec Donnelly and Holly Willoughby after leaving the camp: “This place has given me such self-acceptance. I worry about things constantly. I’ve learned to accept who I am. This is my skin, my hair, this is what I look like.”

Emily admitted that she had spent a “lifetime wearing armour” but added: “Coming here I realised I don’t need to be anything other than myself. I’ve been stripped bare here and not a single person has judged a bone in my body.” Last night, the star appeared at an awards ceremony in Central London, in her first red carpet event since leaving the jungle. She wore a plunging black mini-dress and, true to her word about adopting a more natural look, also showed off her freckles.

Her mum Kate Robbins, 56, also a comedian and actress, was at the event. She was thrilled by her daughter’s success on the ITV hit. Kate said: “I think she has proved herself in the jungle.” Reaching the final is also giving Emily’s career a boost. She was in The Inbetweeners with Simon Bird from 2008 to 2010 but since then regular work was hard to find. Sources close to Emily said the agency representing her had been inundated with requests. Her comedy tour, Talk Thirty To Me, which starts in April, is close to selling out. With Bird in Inbetweeners
