As far back as his first album, Bruce seemed to be re-casting rock ’n’ roll as a Broadway musical. And with his 236 one-man show run on New York’s boulevard of dreams the older, wiser legend comes full circle. The Boss puts his unique spin on well loved material, and sole accompanist, his wife Patti Scialfa, gets to duet on Tougher Than The Rest, perhaps the greatest song in a set of stand-outs. Familiar numbers are reworked to make a poignant encapsulation of the Springsteen story. Here’s to many more chapters to come.
