CABBIE RAPIST TO SELL £250K FLAT
He needs cash for next parole bid
Home is in sought-after development and has had same tenant for 26 years ESTATE AGENT DESCRIBES WORBOYS’ ONE-BED FLAT
TAXI rapist John Worboys is selling his flat for £250,000 to fund his bid for freedom.
The sex fiend, 61, currently pockets £865 a month in rent on the property he bought in 1989.
But Worboys, convicted of attacks on 12 women, has decided to sell up since the High Court blocked his parole from a minimum eight-year sentence.
The one-bedroom, groundfloor flat is situated in a “sought after residential development” in Enfield, North London, according to the estate agent.
It features a refitted kitchen, a remodelled shower room and a garage, and has had the same tenant living there for 26 years.
The flat is the final asset in his former property portfolio.
He has sold homes in Rotherhithe, South East London, Harpenden, Herts, and Bournemouth. Worboys is waiting to learn if he will face new sex charges after fresh allegations against him.
He will need to pay for lawyers if he is prosecuted and will also need representation should he make a fresh parole bid in two years’ time.
