Council tax to jump by £90
FAMILIES will face council tax hikes of about £90, the Government revealed.
Bills in England are set to rise around 4.99%, meaning an average increase of £65. Cash for police will add £24 more.
The average bill for a band D property could leap from an £1,671 to £1,760 if councils used maximum powers.
Labour’s Andrew Gwynne said it meant “an inflation-busting increase in council tax and no end in sight for austerity”.
