Sock sniffer has a stinker

A MAN has had emergency hospital treatment because he sniffed his own socks after work.

He caught an infection from a fungus that had developed in his footwear due to his sweaty feet. It spread to his lungs when he breathed in the spores.

The man was admitted to hospital in Zhangzhou, South East China, where an X-ray confirmed he had a severe lung infection.

The hospital said it was caused by frequent sniffing of his own socks.
