Dim view of pub’s lights

-

DISPLAY Mark and venue A GRINCH has tried to call time on a pub’s display of 35,000 Christmas lights and 6,500 baubles.

Last year landlord Mark Thomas had to buy £3,000 worth of new lights after an anonymous tip-off led to a fire crew inspection.

This year he had just finished decorating the Hanging Gate, Chapel-enle-Frith, Derbys, when the male caller struck again.

Firefighters gave Mark the all-clear and he said: “I don’t know if it’s a rival or a bitter customer.

“Either they don’t like me or don’t like Christmas.”
