DENTURE JUSTHATE LOSING..?
RAYMOND SMITH came unstuck in his Ally Pally moment of tooth.
The Aussie qualifier (above) was so excited to level his first-round tie with Alan Tabern at 2-2, after being two sets down, that he almost lost his false teeth on stage.
But the Queenslander, making his debut at the PDC world championship, didn’t have as much to celebrate when Tabern won the decider to book a second-round tilt at two-time champion Michael van Gerwen.
In a bizarre session, Jamie Lewis – a semi-finalist last year before his run was ended by legend Phil Taylor – was buzzed on stage by a wasp.
Lewis had to battle hard to beat New Zealand’s Cody Harris 3-2 after blowing a two-set lead.
