And the Ibrox club have been fined £14,000 and also warned over a series of incidents in the same competition.
The UEFA probe into Gers boss Gerrard came after a delay to the start of last month’s 4-3 defeat to Spartak Moscow.
The Russian side’s coach Oleg Kononov was also under investigation, but UEFA decided he had no case to answer.
Rangers’ fine was for “field invasions by supporters” and “throwing of objects” during the 0-0 draw with Villarreal at Ibrox last month.
