MORE LUCK THE GOAL FOR PULIS

- BY SIMON BIRD

TONY PULIS admitted he needs “luck and patience” next month to fix Boro’s dented automatic promotion hopes.

They have slipped away from the top two, with Norwich and boss Daniel Farke (below) seven points clear, and are struggling for goals with just 23 in 21 Championship games, the fifth lowest total in the league. That is about half the number West Brom have scored.

Pulis (above) is desperate to add pace to his attack after one win in eight. “There’s room for improvement, everyone knows that,” said the Riverside boss. “But there are a lot of games to come and things to be settled in the coming weeks,”

“Then the window opens and hopefully we can add one or two to push us on again. We hope one or two things might drop for us.

“We’re looking for a bit more in the forward line, more pace and power.

“We’re working behind the scenes to get that sorted but we need to be patient and lucky.”
