ROY HOPING TO SEE RED AGAIN
ROY HODGSON hopes to “bathe in losers’ blood” sooner rather than later.
A run of one win in 10 games has seen Crystal Palace slide down the table and their boss come under fire.
Hodgson (above) said: “You will never get away from the classic American expression that the winner bathes in the losers’ blood.
“That’s where we are, we’ve lost, so it’s our blood out there at the moment and the winners are bathing in it.
“I hope we will be doing a bit of bathing in blood in future because we will be the winners.”
These are testing times for Hodgson, who did brilliantly to keep
Palace up last season. But he called for perspective, adding: “It was only a week ago the club was buzzing after what we regarded as our best performance of the season against Burnley.
“Then you lose two games and things are very different. It is doom and gloom. I get the impression I’m being told we are absolutely hopeless.” Today’s task against Leicester will not be easy with talisman Wilfried Zaha suspended.
Palace have not won any of the 13 league games they have played without Zaha since September 2016.
Hodgson said: “Well, all curses have to be lifted in some way. There’s only one way to lift a curse and that’s to win the game.”
