Zouma 61, Calvert-Lewin 90+5 mirror.co.uk/sport/football

PICKFORD Good first-half save from Stanislas, and grew into the game COLEMAN

Strong performance down right, unlucky not to produce more

KEANE Booked

Great effort hit bar first half and stayed tough in middle ZOUMA Booked Lots to do in first half, but showed real power in the air for his goal DIGNE As consistent as ever, quality down the left in defence and attack

GUEYE

Lots of energy in the middle, and needed it as often overrun GOMES Booked Has suffered a dip of late, but still plenty of quality touches

LOOKMAN MOTM Everton’s best player by far in poor first half, showed class SIGURDSSON

Seemed to struggle with conditions, but grew in influence BERNARD Booked Frustrating mix of clever play and lack of killer touch around box RICHARLISON Booked

Not at his best right now, but still showed a real work ethic

SUBS: Walcott 6 (Bernard 78) Calvert-Lewin (Richarlison 87) Mina (Sigurdsson 90) Little to do in first half, but exposed by defence after the break

CLYNE

Plenty of energy down right, and crossing a real weapon S COOK Troubled by Richarlison when Everton finally clicked into gear

AKE

Brilliant clearance from off the line and showed calm quality at back SMITH

Had a problem with the talented Lookman down flank

STANISLAS

Energy in first half when caused problems but not maintained LERMA

Controlled tempo of game in opening half, but influence waned GOSLING

Plays important role in middle, but not enough protection later

FRASER

Another who used conditions well before break, and then faded BROOKS

Has real quality and showed it early, but then denied service

KING

Willing worker up front and kept the Everton defence on their toes SUBS: Mousset 6 (Stanislas 68); Ibe (Brooks 82) MARCO SILVA knew there was a storm brewing at windswept Everton, but this huge victory could just mean he’s weathered it.

After his owner had said in the week that things simply were not good enough, the last thing the Everton boss needed was a first half so abysmal that Blues fans could barely muster the energy to boo.

If a turning point was ever needed at Goodison, then it came
