HUGHTON: REDS HAVE IT

- BY DARREN LEWIS

CHRIS HUGHTON believes Liverpool have the edge over Manchester City in the Premier League title race – because of their ability to conjure up something out of nothing.

Mo Salah came to life after a quiet first half to win a decisive 50th-minute penalty and secure a second 1-0 win over the Seagulls the season.

Brighton boss Hughton (right) believes the Reds have shown they can hit you where it hurts when you least expect it.

He said: “Man City are a very possession-based team. In Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, Liverpool probably have more pace.

“I know [Leroy] Sane on the lefthand side is a real quick one for City, but Liverpool probably have a little bit more pace on the counter attack.

“Man City have great guile and great awareness of holes and position. You only have to look at some of the goals they’ve scored.

“When a team can put nine past Burton, it doesn’t matter which team you’re playing against, other teams are not going to do that.”
