I was in a similar position to the woman whose boyfriend’s family don’t seem to want to get close to her (Dear Coleen, Jan 10).

In my case, it turned out that he was a serial cheater who went through numerous girlfriends so, quite rightly, they were worried about getting to like me as I might be gone next week!

And, sadly, although it lasted longer than a week, I did eventually dump him when I realised what a womaniser he was.
