This treasured photo shows my grandma, Annice Barron, front row, far right, and her friends on a day out to Blackpool Pleasure Beach in 1928. Annice lost her husband, John, in the Battle of the Somme in 1916 leaving her alone with three children, one being my mother Florence. But she remarried and went on to have five more children.
