SENTENCED Malone TV star Tina Malone narrowly avoided jail for sharing an image of James Bulger killer Jon Venables.

The Shameless actress, 56, made a Facebook post in February last year breaching a 2001 injunction protecting his identity.

At the High Court yesterday, Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett said “the custody threshold is undoubtedly passed”. But he accepted she had mental health issues at the time and is the main carer for her daughter and mother, so he gave her eight months’ prison, suspended.

Venables and Robert Thompson have lived anonymously since release from life sentences for the kidnap and murder of James, two, in 1993 when they were 10.
