Nuclear test vets missing
NEARLY half of Britain’s 1950s nuclear test veterans cannot be traced for a planned health study.
Public Health England admitted it had no way of checking up on all 22,000 servicemen who took part.
Campaigners now want Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson to axe the “meaningless research that has no chance of being definitive or accurate”.
Alan Owen, of the British Nuclear Test Veterans Association, said: “He should use the money to provide our veterans with a medal for their exemplary service.”
