Birthday fun is in store for Bob, 110
BRITAIN’S joint oldest man buys party supplies at his local supermarket yesterday ahead of his 111th birthday.
Bob Weighton still does all his own shopping with his personalised stroller and insists he is “not extraordinary”.
He said: “People find it amazing because of how old I am, but I’ll keep doing it for as long as I’m able, I enjoy the interactions with people.”
He visited the Waitrose in Alton, Hampshire, to pick up enough candles to have 111 on his birthday cake.
Bob was born on March 29, 1908, and shares his title with Alf Smith, of Perthshire, born on the same day.
