Knife consequences
■ As a nurse, I spent part of my training in A&E. Luckily, I never witnessed any stab-related injuries but I did see many other horrible wounds.
I believe any perpetrators of knife crime caught at the time should be made to follow the ambulance to A&E to witness the consequences of their actions.
If that also means a follow-up visit to see their victim in the mortuary, so be it. These kids need shock tactics. They need a dose of reality. They need to be forced to realise that one swift momentary flick of a knife has life-long repercussions to all involved.
