TAD NICKED MY KIT SAYS EVANS

- BY ALEX BYWATER

ROB EVANS watched Tadhg Furlong pinch his kit after they clashed at junior level.

Now the Wales prop plans to take off with the Six Nations title and ensure his Grand Slam ambitions are not caught short when Ireland arrive in Cardiff on Saturday. Evans – who goes head-to-head with Ireland man-mountain Furlong – reckons his team are ready for battle. He said: “Tadhg is a great player. I remember facing him at Under-20 level and he asked me to swap shorts. He came in and nicked half my kit!

“He’s a great bloke and a farmer like me, but I’ll have to make sure I’m not too nice to him at the weekend. He’s a great player and has been outstanding in the last couple of years. I’m looking forward to having a good bash into him.”
