SAM AJAYI threw Rotherham a relegation lifeline with a last-gasp winner at Loftus Road.

It was the defender’s second goal of a game that only woke up in the last 20 minutes. Bright Osayi-Samuel looked to have broken the Millers’ hearts with a leveller five minutes from time after Nigeria’s Ajayi had put the Yorkshiremen ahead.

But Ajayi rose to nod home Anthony Forde’s free kick as time ran out. That gave Rotherham their first away win of the season.

And only goal difference is keeping them in the drop zone. With only one defeat in their last eight games, they will have hopes of a great escape.
