Cop quits after ‘sex sessions in patrol car’ with colleague

He snubs misconduct hearing

Former Chief Insp Rob Leet, 44, had been due to attend a gross misconduct hearing over the alleged 18-month fling with Sgt Sarah Porter.

But after failing to turn up, the panel was told he ended his 22-year career last month.

Leet was suspended from his £60,000-a-year job with Sussex Police when the claims came to The Reds’ squad at Anfield’s Hillsborou­gh Memorial light in 2017. The dad-of-four and Sgt Porter, also married at the time, are said to have pulled into lay-bys on patrol and had sex.

They are also accused of making up false appointmen­ts to meet up for romps in stations.

One alleged sex session meant traffic officer Sgt Porter was unreachabl­e when she should have attended a fatal car crash.

Leet was also accused of having sex with a former victim of domestic violence while on duty. their community, they weren’t. They were putting their sexual relationsh­ip first.”

The hearing opened in Leet’s absence. Sgt Porter attended. Both deny gross misconduct. Sgt Porter admits kissing Leet but denies their relationsh­ip was sexual. The hearing continues. Amy Clarke, for Sussex Police, told the hearing in Lewes: “This is not about whether it is right or wrong for how two adults want to conduct a sexual relationsh­ip.

“It is about the fact they were on duty.
