Driver haunted by suicide hell

A TRAIN driver who “was never the same” after his train hit a suicidal man killed himself, an inquest heard.

Dad-of-four Scott Walker, 43, was found dead, holding a note, by police at his home in Hedon, East Yorks, in November.

Hull coroner’s court heard Mr Walker, who worked for Arriva Trains Northern, started drinking heavily after the fatal collision. The trauma eventually led to the breakdown of his relationship.

His ex-partner said: “It really affected Scott. He was never the same after that.”

Coroner Rosemary Baxter recorded a verdict of suicide. The cause of death was given as drug poisoning.
