RORY BURNS and Dean Elgar hit centuries to put Surrey in a strong position against Somerset on day one in the Championsh­ip.

Skipper Burns hit 107 and Elgar 103 (right, together) against one of his former clubs as the visitors finished on 330-6.

Surrey were 265-2 at one stage, but then lost four wickets for 30 runs as Lewis Gregory struck twice on his way to figures of 3-44 from 17 overs in Division One at Taunton.
