THIS manoeuvre is definitely not in the Highway Code.

The car flipped over in the middle of the night and smashed into the home of retired Larry and Pam Marlow.

The crash woke

Pam, 71, leaving her “shaking all over” while Larry, 72, was sitting downstairs.

Their front door was blocked by the car, which began leaking fuel into the building.

Larry, whose own Honda was written off by the impact, said: “I was in disbelief at first – the car was so close to the house. I had to crawl under a gap in the garage to get out. After I checked on Pam, I could see the boot could be seen just below our bedroom window.” Pam added: “I was shaking all over, in total shock.” The couple, of Pelsall, near Walsall, West Mids, were unhurt in the incident at around midnight on Wednesday.

Fire crews checked the home and declared it safe. The car was removed by a crane. Police arrested a man, 21, on suspicion of drink-driving. He was released while enquiries continue. Pam and Larry Larry inspects the damage FASTER walkers tend to live longer than those who stroll at a gentle pace – regardless of weight or obesity, a study claims.

The underweight with a slow pace had the lowest life expectancy, averaging 64.8 years for men and 72.4 for women.

University of Leicester Prof Tom Yates, lead author of the study of 475,000 people, said: “Perhaps physical fitness is a better indicator of life expectancy than body mass index. Brisk walks may add years.”
