Surgeon’s photo op gets royal approval

THE Queen flashes a hearty smile for a surgeon as he bags a shot that makes him selfie royalty.

Jason Ali took the snap while Her Majesty visited the new Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge yesterday. The specialist registrar in cardiothoracic surgery said: “I knew she’d be walking towards me so I angled the camera for a selfie and, amazingly, she looked straight at it and smiled.”

The Queen unveiled a plaque at the site – a specialist heart and lung centre at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
