■ The finale of BBC1’s Sunday night drama Gentleman Jack was an appropriate ending to this fantastic series chronicling the life of Yorkshire landowner and traveller Anne Lister. The wedding scene was a brilliant way of bringing the story to a close while Suranne Jones, left, deserves a BAFTA for her portrayal of this real-life historical figure who came from Halifax. Surely, Anne Lister’s life has plenty more for another one or two series?

■ People of the BBC, let’s have some more of those wonderful spooky adventures of Jonathan Creek, so ably played by Alan Davies. The series is much missed by countless fans who would love to see Jonathan return to investigate more weird and wonderful cases in his own unique way.
